Gamescom 2018 has opened. Before announcements of games and the revelation of trailers, Nvidia organized its conference. Gamesitb was there while the company was unveiling its new range of graphics cards.

The 2018 edition of Gamescom is launched. In the program, we will of course find ads of games and content, but not only. The company Nvidia is thus the first to benefit from a conference to reveal its new family of GeForce RTX 20 . Given the statements about their power, they have something to dream about fans of virtual reality.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 20: The first big revelation of Gamescom 2018

With its new GeForce RTX 20 range , Nvidia is planning to revolutionize (again) graphics in video games. If the capabilities of these graphics cards will adapt perfectly to virtual reality, any gamer would be delighted to own one. Three models are announced : the RTX 2070 (8Gb of RAM) first, then the 2080 and 2080 Ti (11Gb of RAM). Each will be available from September 20 , for a price far from modest. Indeed, they will be worth respectively 639, 849 and 1259 euros . If the performance of a machine is crucial for some, it is clear that the new Nvidia graphics cards will not be within the reach of everyone.

What sets these machines apart from their predecessors is a new architecture: Turing. This uses “ray-tracing” , a calculation technique with a particularly impressive rendering. In particular, it will allow Nvidia products to offer lighting effects that are very close to reality . During its conference at Gamescom 2018, the company did not miss demonstrations to offer to the public. Several games have been put forward, each obviously being compatible with future graphics cards. Shadow of the Tomb Raider , Metro Exodus and Battlefield V , everyone takes advantage of photo-realistic light effects. If you are a seasoned gamer and do not be afraid to put your hand in your pocket, the GeForce RTX 20 range should be made for you.
